We are looking for a Junior Thai Cook who will be working with our team to produce authentic Thai food. 

Requirements

  • At least 4 months of related work experience OR

  • At least a related NZ Register Diploma Level 4 qualification may substitute for the experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) OR

  • The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Thai Cook) from Thailand
    AND

  • Knowledge of Thai food cooking techniques 

Job Descriptions

  • Inspect food items to ensure they meet quality standards

  • Control and adjust temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes

  • Season food appropriately during the cooking process

  • Portion meals, plate food attractively, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes

  • Store food safely in temperature-controlled environments

  • Prepare meals tailored to specific dietary needs

  • May be responsible for planning menus and estimating food quantities required

  • May assist in training kitchen staff and apprentices

Other detail

  • This is a full-time and permanent position

  • Wages range from $26 to $30 per hour, depending on your skills and experience, and are paid weekly. 

  • Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law

  • You will be working at Unit 5/177 High Street, Christchurch Central City

  • You will work according to a roster 5 - 6 days each week, with a guarantee of 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours)
