We are looking for an experienced Chef for our busy Indian restaurant in Papakura. 

Location: Papakura, Auckland  

Job type: Full Time  

Duration: Permanent  

Pay: Minimum $25.00 and maximum $32.00  

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed  

Relevant Work Experience Required: Minimum two years  

Willing to work on weekends (Working days will be between Tuesday and Sunday)  

Job Description for a Chef:  

• Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure they run smoothly  

• Preparation, seasoning, and cooking of food  

• Monitoring the quality of dishes from basic preparation through to service to  customers.  

• Portioning food and adding dressings to ensure excellent presentation  

• Must be able to cook all authentic Indian curries and tandoori dishes  

• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs  

• Ordering food requirements as per the menu  

• Conducting stock takes and reporting to the manager  

• Handling customer complaints and discussing them with the staff  

• Plan food requirements for dressing and ensure a great presentation  

• Ability to prepare and meet any dietary requirements  

• May train other staff in the kitchen  

• Ensuring personal hygiene and maintaining high standards of health and safety  

• To ensure the kitchen waste is kept to a minimum
