Chinese chef

Nan Hotpot, a brand new hotpot restaurant located in Hamilton City, is owned and operated by Sunway Food Ltd. We are looking to employ two Chinese chefs for the work in busy kitchen.  The Chinese chefs we are looking for will work 40 hours per week and be paid $32 per hour. You will be expected to work in a busy environment but have to be presentable, reliable and able to deliver under pressure whiles maintain the highest standards of quality and presentation. The main tasks are as follows:

·      To be responsible for the planning and organizing the food preparation and cooking of the Chinese dishes. 

·      Together with the management, developing and planning new Chinese dishes to add to the existing menu and making changes to the menu at any time according to the feedback from the customers. 

·      Estimating food and labor costs of the Chinese dishes to maintain profit margins.

·      Checking food stock to order food supplies accordingly for the Chinese dishes. 

·      Preparing and cooking the Chinese dishes with the techniques and procedures specified

·      Monitoring quality of the Chinese dishes at all stages including preparation, cooking and service.

·      Liaison with manager and the other staff to discuss the food issues if any.

·      Demonstrating techniques to advise on cooking procedures of the Chinese dishes if necessary.

·      Enforcing hygiene regulations to ensure kitchen is clean and tidy to meet the hygiene requirements. 

·      Helping select and train staff to cook the Chinese dishes if required.
