What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience as a sushi chef (Itamae) or strong sushi‑making skills.
  • A commitment to authentic techniques and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demand-driven kitchen.
  • Strong teamwork, excellent communication, and a customer-first approach.
  • Availability Monday–Friday (some flexibility appreciated, opening hours 9AM–5PM and 9AM–5:30PM).

Qualification & Work Experience Requirements

  • Candidates should hold a New Zealand Register Diploma (Level 5 or higher) in a relevant field of culinary arts,
    OR
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the culinary field, with proven skills in sushi preparation and kitchen operations.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Prep and craft sushi, sashimi, and rolls with flair and precision.
  • Fillet and portion premium fish and seafood, maintaining top-tier freshness.
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene, food safety, and health regulations are rigorously followed.
  • Collaborate with staff to keep service smooth and customers delighted.
  • Contribute ideas for new dishes and menu enhancements.
