A Local established Indian Restaurant in Tasman/Nelson, is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in Richmond(Tasman). In this full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking and oversee the authentic Indian cuisine for our restaurant and catering events.
Days required: Rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and some public holidays
Key tasks and responsibilities requires, but not limited to.
· Prepare sauces and other menu items.
· Prepare breads, meats and Curries on daily basis.
· Impart knowledge, skills and training to all kitchen staff to ensure high standards.
· Identify and maintain establishment policies and procedures of our business.
· Maintain standards for Food and Health & Safety in all food preparation area as per the council requirements.
· Order and maintain inventory to ensure efficient operations all times.
· Ensure all items are produced to the customer expectations.
· Maintain food and labour costs to the establishment’s requirements.
· Manage and supervise all kitchen responsibilities.
Skills and work experience requires
· At least three years of experience as a Indian food Chef or similar roles and industry.
· A thorough knowledge of Indian cuisine, methods and spices is a must.
· Proven experience of working calmly under pressure, alone or in a team.
· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
· Budgeting and menu costing skills for functions and occasions.
· Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills .
· Must be hardworking and professionals,100% committed, fully focused and reliable, extremely clean and tidy and well-presented all the times at work.
· No specific qualifications are required but having relevant qualifications would be an advantage.
