We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Chef at our premises located within Canterbury region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a supportive, fast-paced kitchen environment.

What We Offer:

  • Location: within Canterbury region
  • Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week
  • Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
  • Rostered Shifts: Must be available to work weekends and according to a roster

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all kitchen operations
  • Supervise staff and control kitchen costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food costs
  • Order supplies and maintain accurate inventory
  • Monitor the quality of dishes and train junior staff
  • Liaise with managers, suppliers, and other kitchen staff
  • Demonstrate and advise on cooking techniques
  • Prepare, cook, and present food
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations
  • Train and select kitchen staff as needed
  • Preserve food using freezing or other methods

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, or a Level 4 or higher qualification in related field
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to delivering high-quality food
  • Understanding and adherence to health, safety, and operational protocols
  • Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability
