We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Chef at our premises located within Canterbury region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a supportive, fast-paced kitchen environment.
What We Offer:
- Location: within Canterbury region
- Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week
- Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
- Rostered Shifts: Must be available to work weekends and according to a roster
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all kitchen operations
- Supervise staff and control kitchen costs
- Plan menus and estimate food costs
- Order supplies and maintain accurate inventory
- Monitor the quality of dishes and train junior staff
- Liaise with managers, suppliers, and other kitchen staff
- Demonstrate and advise on cooking techniques
- Prepare, cook, and present food
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations
- Train and select kitchen staff as needed
- Preserve food using freezing or other methods
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, or a Level 4 or higher qualification in related field
- Strong work ethic and dedication to delivering high-quality food
- Understanding and adherence to health, safety, and operational protocols
- Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability
