What we need
Minimum of Level 5 qualification in cookery and cullinary arts
Must have relevant work experience as an chef for over 5 years
Must have full drivers licence without any driving restrictions
Should be able to pass drug test
LCQ and Managers licence is desired but not neccessory.
What you will do:
Food Preparation and Cooking
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes such as breakfast items, light lunches, snacks, and baked goods.
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency.
Adapt dishes to meet special dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free).
Menu Development
Assist in designing and updating seasonal menus or daily specials.
Suggest creative, café-appropriate dishes that align with customer preferences and trends.
Kitchen Management
Oversee kitchen operations, including food prep and presentation.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, if any.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
Inventory and Ordering
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Order food and kitchen supplies as needed, keeping waste to a minimum.
Food Safety and Hygiene
Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served in accordance with food safety regulations.
Maintain records of food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and hygiene compliance.
Cost Control
Work within budget guidelines for food costs and wastage.
Help reduce expenses by efficient use of ingredients and minimizing spoilage.
Customer Satisfaction
Respond to customer feedback regarding food quality or presentation.
Occasionally interact with customers, especially in open-kitchen café settings.
