Our Cafe is located in the heart of the city, and the one of the Metro top 50 cafe in town is seeking a talent pastrycook to join our team. This is a full time role that requires 30-40 hours every week. Presently staff work an average of 30 to 40 per week with normal work hours is 6 am to 3 pm 6 days in shift.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role, OR

  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant field

Key Responsibilities:

Your tasks will include:

  • Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.

  • Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods.

  • Preparing pastry fillings.

  • Monitoring oven and steamer temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.
  • Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, steaming, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products.
  • Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing if required.
  • Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut in noodles and dimpling pastries.
  • Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment.

Candidates should be a NZ resident or citizen or hold work rights in NZ.
