This job requires your commitment and flexibility especially during
weekends and late evening. Hours of work will be at least 30 and you may ask to work additional hours depending upon the business requirements up to 50 hours. You will be paid a wage rate between $30 to $32 per hour.

Duties for this role will include but not limited:

  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Planning the Wok menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
  • May train other kitchen staff and apprentices

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minumum 3 years relevant work experience in high volume Chinese Restaurant.
  • Relevant Qualification is prefered.

Candidates should be a NZ resident or citizen or hold work rights in NZ.
