North Indian Food Limited, proudly serving the Kawakawa community for the past 21 years, is seeking experienced Chefs and Cooks to become a part of our dedicated team.
Chef
This is a full-time, permanent role with a guaranteed minimum of 32 hours per week with remuneration between $25-$35 per hour for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include (Chef):

Planning and preparing a variety of Indian cuisines, including curries, tandoori items, breads, and regional specialties

Monitoring food quality and presentation to ensure consistency with our standards

Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs
-
Ordering food supplies and managing inventory

Supervising and training kitchen staff

Ensuring hygiene and safety standards are maintained in compliance with New Zealand food safety regulations

Managing portion control and minimising food waste
Skills and Experience Requirements (Chef):

Minimum of three years' relevant experience OR Culinary qualifications, Diploma or higher

Proven ability to prepare authentic Indian dishes using traditional techniques and ingredients

Excellent understanding of food hygiene, safety regulations, and kitchen operations
-
Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment

Strong leadership and communication skills
Cook
This is a full-time, permanent role with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week with remuneration between $25-$30 per hour for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include (Cook):

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while upholding high-quality standards.

Ensure every dish is beautifully presented and served promptly.

Maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen workspace.

Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide exceptional customer experiences.

Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Skills and Experience Requirements (Cook):

Minimum of three years' relevant experience OR Culinary qualifications, Diploma or higher

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen

Strong skills in food preparation and presentation

Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Passion for delivering high-quality cuisine.
