Eden Café and Restaurant is looking for full-time chefs to join our kitchen team at our restaurant in New Plymouth.
You will be part of a professional and vibrant team that has fun at work and gives 100% to satisfy the needs of our discerning customers.
Your duties will include:
- Planning menus according to seasonal ingredients
- Control food costs by managing food supplies and providing inputs on portion control and pricing
- In charge of inventory and keeping control of stock
- Preparing Indian curry and tandoor items as per specifications and recipes.
- Maintaining the quality of prepared food items and adhering to specified portion control.
- Ensuring proper storage of food and checking temperatures to maintain freshness.
- Checking food quality and overseeing cooking techniques.
- Working within specified budgets.
- Ensuring the kitchen meets high standards of quality.
- Ensuring all food, health and safety and other relevant regulations are fully complied with.
- Establishing strong relationships with staff in other areas of the business, including managers and front-of-house teams.
Ideally, our applicant would have the following:
A minimum of one year of experience as a chef.
We operate from Monday to Sunday, so your weekly roster may require you to work weekends.
In return, we offer:
Attractive hourly rate, i.e. $26 - 32 per hour
Flexible working hours with a guarantee of a minimum of 30 hours per week.
