Kiss Kiss Eatery
Located in the hustle and bustle of Dominion Road, we are an eatery that prides ourselves in excellent customer service, delicious food and drinks with a unique twist. Our flavours are inspired by Northern Thai Street eats fused with a modern ambient.
We are looking for a permanent full-time Chef (minimum 30 hours per week) to join our fast-paced and energetic restaurant. This position requires availability on both weekends and nights. You will work alongside a team of chefs and be in charge of preparing Thai cuisine. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation and cooking of food in accordance with KissKiss recipes.
• Cook, plate, and present menu items as and when ordered to the level as instructed and correct portion sizes.
• Controlling stock and preparing correct level of food required (inc. waste control).
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Assisting the Owner in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes.
• Conducting any necessary training of future chefs and impart knowledge of Southeast Asian cuisine.
• Ordering food supplies.
• Ensuring all the food items are sourcing, receiving and storing correctly.
• Ensuring food is protected, labelled and served according to plate recipe portions.
• Ensuring all food hygiene are in place.
• Following any current and updated duty lists.
• Cleaning food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.
• Washing and cleaning utensils and dishes when required, and making sure they are stored in the correct place at all times
• Taking care with fragile dishes and reporting breakages.
• Keeping the dishwashing and rubbish areas clean and tidy.
• Keeping the rest of the kitchen clean and up to hygiene regulations and standards.
What you need to be successful:
· NZ Diploma in Cookery or a relevant qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
· Must have experience in preparing Southeast Asian cuisine, such as Thai or Vietnamese cuisine.
· Be able to keep a cool head under pressure and work efficiently throughout a busy preparation and service time.
· Good knife skills and keen attention to detail.
· Be reliable, punctual and well presented.
· A positive "can-do" attitude at work.
· Excellent communication skills.
· A good team player.
