Café Chef – Full-time – Northland, Whangarei
we are a well-established cafe in Whangarei, Northland. We are looking for one cafe chef to join our team
Position Details
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Northland, Whangarei, New Zealand
Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours per week
Approximate pay: $25-$30 per hour 
Work Schedule: Daytime hours only, including weekends; no late nights
 
Key Tasks and Resqualification; 
Assist in planning cafe menus and specials; estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Preparing, cooking, seasoning and presenting meals to a high standard; 
Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation; 
Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and front-of-house staff
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Explaining and enforcing hygiene and food safety regulations
Storing food in temperature-controlled environments and ensuring compliance with the Food Control Plan; 
Receiving and checking food deliveries in line with hygiene standards; 
Train, and supervise junior kitchen staff or apprentices when require ; 
Prepare food for special dietary requirements
Minimum Qualifications and requirements; 
-have a level 4 certificate in Cookery or higher (equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted)
OR；
At least three years of relevant experience in a café or commercial kitchen may substitute for the above formal qualification
 
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions accurately
Self-management and strong sense of responsibility
A passion for food quality and commitment to continuous improvement
