Chefs
Cinnamon Club Ltd. is a well-known operator of Indian restaurants in the Bay of Plenty region. We are looking for skilledIndian chefs to join our busy team.
As Chef, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Plan menus and manage the kitchen
• Ensure dishes are prepared and cooked in accordance with traditional North/South Indian methods and requirements, presenting dishes as per the requirement of the dish.
• Determine portions and pricing of dishes
• Control quality of the dishes
• Manage hygiene and safety standards in accordance with New Zealand health and safety requirements.
• Prepare gravies and sauces as per requirements of the week.
• Maintain the temperatures of cooking equipment - tandoor ovens.
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements of customers.
• Work effectively under pressure
• Train other kitchen staff whenever required.
Requirements:
➢ 2+ years’ relevant experience or a relevant tertiary qualification (level 4 or higher)
➢ Good knowledge of Indian cuisine, including knowledge of menus, ingredients, spices, equipment and other supplies (will be tested at interview)
➢ Good knowledge of Indian cooking methods, including knowledge of regional differences (will be tested at interview)
➢ Willing to work evenings and weekends
Pay Rate:
$27 to $29 per hour.
Hours:
As these are full-time positions, you will be guaranteed a minimum 30 hours per week but will likely be required to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
