We are looking for two Chinese Cuisine Cooks to work in our busy Takeaways.

About the business:
SHEN’s Takeaways is located at 1/255 Lincoln Road, Henderson, Auckland, a business area. Our takeaways offer a menu with over 50
items and services both in Kiwi style and traditional Chinese cuisine.

About the role:
The suitable candidates will join our excellent food service team and take responsibility for ensuring that all food is produced effectively and on
time. Candidates need to work from a minimum of 30 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week between Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30
am to 10:00 pm. Working more than 40 hours may be required with additional hourly payment, but overtime will be no more than 8 hours per
week.


Reporting to the Chef, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Prepare and cook food accordingly.
  2. Season food by using western cuisine cooking techiniques.
  3. Portion food, placing on plates or takeaway boxes and adding gravies and sauces.
  4. Ensure quality of food are always delivered at the highest standard and presents to customers in a timely manner.
  5. Assist chefs by checking food stocks and places order with suppliers.
  6. Teach and supervise kitchen junior staffs the cooking procedures by using your cooking knowledge and experience if needed.
  7. Assist chefs for planning menu and create recipes.
  8. Working with other chefs to discuss food preparation issues.
  9. Prepare dietary food to meet the customer's special needs.
  10. Keep kitchen tidy and clean to meet health and hygiene regulations.
  11. Manage frozen and fresh food.

Pay
We offer a considerable pay rate between $28/hour – $30/hour for ordinary working hours and a higher pay rate for overtime depending on your skills and performance.


Qualification and Experience:
Qualification is not required. At least 2 years relevant experience.
