Full-Time Cook Wanted – New Plymouth

Guaranteed Minimum: 30 Hours/Week | Up to 45 Hours/Week

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Cook to join our team in New Plymouth. This is a permanent full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with hours potentially increasing to up to 45 hours per week depending on operational.  requirements. The pay rate would be $30 to $34 based on experience. 

Job Description:

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality 

  • Planning menus, estimating food requirements, and monitoring quality.

  • Inspecting and cleaning food preparation areas, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are maintained.

  • Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.

  • Training and supervising kitchen assistants or junior cooks.

  • Ordering food supplies and maintaining stock levels as required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR a relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or higher.

  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Strong time management and communication skills.

  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
