We are a busy and fast-growing restaurant in the heart of Onemana. We are looking for 2 x experienced Cooks to join our busy team. You will be required to work as efficiently as possible, in a busy team environment. You must be a team player and must be able to work under pressure. You must be passionate about food and cooking.
Key duties include but not limited to:
Cooks: Core duties include;
- Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- preparing and cooking food.
- Manage prep time and minimise wastage.
- Maintain and monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Follow recipes and instructions carefully.
- Seasoning food during cooking.
- Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- Stocktake and ordering.
- May train other kitchen staff and apprentices.
- Assisting in menu planning and prepare seasonal menu.
- Be familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions, specials etc.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standard.
- Ensure all statutory, as well as establishment, hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to. Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
- Be familiar with and follow the Food Control Plan.
- Ensure that work area, equipment and section is kept clean at all times, in accordance with current health and hygiene regulations and statutory requirement.

Hourly wage rate: $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience and skills.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role OR Level 4 Diploma in cookery or above.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already in New Zealand and has a relevant work experience. All suitable candidates should be able to pass a preemployment drug test and a Ministry of Justice/Police check when required.
