Hourly rate: $29.66-$33

Employment type: Permanent Full-time

Minimum and Maximum Hours Per Week: 40-60 hours

What are you be doing?

Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies

Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff

Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures

Preparing and cooking food

Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations

May select and train staff

May freeze and preserve foods

Manage high volume cooking efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.

Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen work space

 

What will you bring?

Relevant Level 4 qualification or

Minimum 2 years relevant work experience;

Strong knowledge and experience in cooking wok dishes and Chinese specialities;

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively;

Excellent communication and teamwork skills;

Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery preferred but not essential;

Self-initiative and motivation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
