Are you a kitchen champion looking for casual work in the Wellington area? Lowie is looking for an experienced chef to work in a busy production environment team in Porirua, Wellington.

Weekend morning shift: Saturday & Sunday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

Some duties you may be required to do:

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Follow and maintain high food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ensure the kitchen operates in a timely way
  • Solve any issues that arise and take control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Clean MOJ
  • Previous experience in either a commercial kitchen or large hotel
  • Knowledge in cookery with a passion for food and presentation
  • Ability to work rostered shifts (and weekends as needed)
  • Strive to exceed customers satisfaction
  • Ability to communicate, multi-task and cope under pressure

No qualifications are required, however, a cookery qualification would be beneficial. You will need to be a NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or on a valid work visa to apply for a position.
