IPPUDO is a busy restaurant in Westfield Newmarket and Sylvia Park Mall. We are looking for a suitably qualified motivated & energetic cook to join our busy team. The restaurant serves Japanese and Asian cuisine on a daily basis; particularly Ramen.

Location                    : Sylvia Park Mall & Westfield Newmarket, Auckland

Employment type     :  Full time

Duration                     :  Permanent (Mondays to Sundays rostered hours)

Pay                             :  $27 per hour (minimum 30 hours and max 50 hours weekly) earning $810-$1350 per week

Description

Our operating hours are from 10:30am to 10:00pm every day. As an important member of the team, this role is responsible for managing the day to day running of the kitchen. Selected candidates will work a minimum of 30 rostered hours per week including weekends and public holidays.

 

Duties of the Role:

  • Learn, understand and adapt to IPPUDO concepts of food preparation and customer service standards
  • Examining food ingredients and products to ensure food freshness and quality
  • Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment to maintain cooking standards
  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and specifications
  • Season dishes appropriately during the cooking process
  • Portion and plate food, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes as required
  • Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage
  • Ensure kitchen, food preparation areas and BOH (Back of House) consistently clean, well-presented, and meets the food safety and hygiene standards at all time
  • Clean cooking utensils and general kitchen equipment, including cutlery, dishes and cooware
  • Transfer, weigh and check supplies and equipment to ensure food quality and quantities met
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely service of high-quality food and beverage
  • Conduct regular stocktake; record, maintain and report to BOH managers the accuracy of the inventory 
  • Supervise and support/assist back of house crew when required
  • Relevant ad hoc tasks as assigned by BOH managers / supervisors

 

Requisite Competencies

To fit well in the role, you will need to have;

·       The ability to multi-task, cope with pressure in a fast paced working environment

·      Two years' work experience is required

·       Honesty, dependability and responsibility

·       Punctuality and excellent time management

·       Preferably speaking Chinese
