Ekaner NZ Limited is looking for a motivated and skilled Junior Chef to join its team in
Auckland. The role involves assisting in daily kitchen operations, preparing high-quality
dishes, and supporting the team to maintain excellent food standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist management in planning and updating menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Support all aspects of food preparation and plating to maintain high standards.
• Monitor kitchen inventory, manage food costs, and ensure efficient use of ingredients with minimal waste.
• Maintain portion control and present dishes attractively.
• Assist in training and supporting kitchen staff to ensure smooth teamwork and efficient operations.
• Maintain and monitor kitchen equipment to ensure it operates effectively and safely.
• Implement proper food storage practices to maintain freshness, rotation, and compliance with food safety regulations.
• Communicate with management to resolve kitchen issues and support seamless daily operations.


Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $27-$32
per hour.


Other Requirements:
• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in a café.
• Available to work weekends and early shifts.
• Physically able to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Good coordination and attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
