Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present a range of Chinese-style dishes including dumplings, stir-fries, noodles, soups, buns and rice meals according to company recipes and standards.

Operate commercial kitchen equipment such as woks, fryers, and steamers safely and efficiently.

Supervise and support kitchen assistants in daily food preparation to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with New Zealand Food Safety regulations.

Monitor ingredient levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering.

Collaborate with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operation during busy service hours.
Skills & Experience Required

At least 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or takeaway environment.

Good understanding of Chinese cooking techniques, flavours, and presentation.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Team-oriented, reliable, and able to follow standardised recipes accurately.
