Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present a range of Chinese-style dishes including dumplings, stir-fries, noodles, soups, buns and rice meals according to company recipes and standards.

  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment such as woks, fryers, and steamers safely and efficiently.

  • Supervise and support kitchen assistants in daily food preparation to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with New Zealand Food Safety regulations.

  • Monitor ingredient levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering.

  • Collaborate with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operation during busy service hours.


Skills & Experience Required

  • At least 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or takeaway environment.

  • Good understanding of Chinese cooking techniques, flavours, and presentation.

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team-oriented, reliable, and able to follow standardised recipes accurately.
