Helensville Fishery Limited is a fast-food business offering both dine-in and takeaway services. We are located on Commercial Road in Helensville and operate from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday.

Due to our extended operating hours, we are currently seeking a full-time Cook to join our team and assist with workload and shift coverage. This is a permanent full-time position。

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook dishes from our menu
  • Set up and stock kitchen stations with required supplies and ingredients
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard, with correct portion sizes
  • Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating during service
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure smooth service
  • May assist in planning menus and estimating food and ingredient needs
  • May train, supervise, and support other staff and apprentices
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Report maintenance or equipment issues as needed
  • Perform other kitchen-related duties as required

Skills and Requirements:

  • At least 12 months of relevant work experience in the fast-food industry, restaurant, or a similar environment, or
  • A New Zealand Level 2 or higher qualification in cookery or culinary arts
  • Skilled in operating standard kitchen equipment
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced kitchen and handle multiple tasks during peak hours
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for producing high-quality food
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Sound knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
  • Have no drug and alcohol issue
