We are currently seeking a Chef to join our team, which values hospitality and exceptional food. This position is based in Auckland and will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of meals. The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week, rostered between Monday to Sunday, with shifts scheduled between 9 AM to 10PM.

 

Job Duties:

·        Responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

·        Assisting in menu development and implementation – changing/tweaking the menu with the seasons.

·        Creating and developing the menus in contemporary manner.

·        A thorough understanding and experience managing Food Control Plans and compliance requirements.

·        Preparing and cooking food

·        Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

·        Diplomacy and the ability to solve problem.

·        Motivated and enthusiastic attitude

·        Monitoring the quality of food taste and presentation of dishes.

·        Staff training and Health & safety and Hygiene matters within the kitchen.

·        Lead a dedicated team, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.

·        Ensure compliance obligations are met in relation to Food Hygiene

·        Innovation; bringing new ideas, creativity, techniques, and trends to the table.

·        Collaborate with the wider team, share ideas to contribute to the business growth and exceed customer experiences.

Job requirements:

·        Should have 2 years of kitchen work experience or at least Level 5 Diploma or higher qualification in Cookery / culinary arts.

·        A genuine passion for food, and the wider industry

·        Clear and friendly communication skills with your team members

·        As per the nature of the business, you must be able to work 7 days a week (as per roster) which includes Weekends and Public Holidays

·        Passion to train and mentor team members coming through the kitchen.

·        A collaborative style, working harmoniously with the management team and floor staff.

·        Previous work experience working within food production environment is preferable.

·        You must be reliable and physically fit.

·        Zero tolerance of drugs at workplace.

Salary can be negotiated as per your proven experience level; it will range from $28 per hour to $35 per hour.
