The role & responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the Head Chef, prepare and present all kitchen dishes & cabinet food to a high standard.
- High attention to speed, quality and consistency of food delivery.
- Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards within the kitchen areas and overseeing strict daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Management of the food control plan.
- Engage in being a key player in our team, demonstrating a positive attitude to workplace culture, teamwork, training and mentoring.
- Engage in and provide input on menu & meal design, as well as ensuring food costs meet agreed-upon targets.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Chef ( 1.5years + essential)
• Passion for seasonal, local, and innovative cuisine.
• Knowledge of kitchen operations, stock management and food safety.
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fun, and collaborative environment.
• New Zealand Certificate in Cookery – Level 3 and above (preferable)
• Food Safety and Hygiene Training
• Fluent English (essential)
