Ajisen Botany is a well-known Asian cuisine restaurant specializing in authentic ramen, rice bowls, and a variety of Asian specialty snacks. We are currently looking for 2 skilled Cooks to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Cook, you will be working for a minimum of 30 hours per week on a roster, and you will be responsible for:

  • Job Responsibilities:
    1. Prepare and cook ramen, rice bowls, and a variety of Asian snacks following our standard recipes. 
    2. Ensure food is cooked and presented consistently to meet quality standards. 
    Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations. 
    3. Assist in food preparation, ingredient handling, and stock management. 
    4. Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and coordinate with other team members. 
    5. Adhere to health and safety protocols and maintain kitchen equipment in good condition. 

 

  • Requirements:
    1. A New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 4) or an equivalent qualification(No specific major is required, if the applicant holds a bachelor's degree or higher )OR 
    2. At least one year of relevant work experience in an Asian restaurant or similar food service environment. 
    3. Familiarity with Asian cooking techniques and ingredients is a plus. 
    4. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks in a busy kitchen. 
    5. Good teamwork and communication skills. 
    6. Willingness to follow kitchen guidelines and maintain a high standard of hygiene.
