We are a Chinese restaurant seeking a professional Chinese Chef to join our team.

Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Hours per week: Minimum 30 hours
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Hourly rate: $25 per hour

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies
  • Monitor the quality of dishes during all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Discuss food preparation and service matters with managers and kitchen staff
  • Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures
  • Prepare and cook authentic Chinese cuisine
  • Explain and enforce hygiene and safety regulations
  • Assist in selecting and training kitchen staff
  • May freeze and preserve foods

 

Requirements:

  • At least two years relevant work experience as a Chinese Chef
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking methods and ingredients
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings
