We are seeking experienced and passionate Chinese Chefs to join our team and contribute to our authentic Chinese cuisine offerings. The successful applicant will specialize in traditional Chinese cooking techniques and regional dishes (e.g., Sichuan, Cantonese, Northern, etc.).

Key tasks:

Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Chinese dishes using traditional methods

Plan and develop menus in consultation with management, ensuring consistency and quality

Monitor food preparation, portion sizes, and presentation standards.

Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all time

Supervise and train junior kitchen staff when necessary

Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs

 

Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience or equivalent level 4 or above qualification

In-depth knowledge of Chinese culinary traditions, regional specialties, and cooking techniques

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Good communication and teamwork skills

Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards in New Zealand

Able to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays

 

Hours: This position is on a full-time basis of 30 hours per week

Hourly range: $27-$35
