Rumi Restaurant is a vibrant, high-quality Persian restaurant located in the heart of Parnell, Auckland. We specialise in authentic Persian flavours, modern presentation, and top-level customer experience. We are expanding our kitchen team and seeking two experienced Chefs to join us

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Prepare and execute traditional Persian dishes with precision and consistency.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, flavour, presentation, and portion control.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, stock rotation, and ordering supplies.
  • Uphold hygiene, food safety, and Health & Safety standards at all times.
  • Assist with menu development, seasonal specials, and special events.
  • Train and support junior kitchen team members.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

 

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial experience as a Chef.
  • Culinary diploma or cooking qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience with Persian or Middle Eastern cuisine preferred (not essential for fast learners).
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Must be available for evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
