Minimum guaranteed hours of work per week: 30 hours
Days required: Monday to Sunday (rotating shift)
Hourly rate: $25-35
Your duties will include but not limit to:
· Develop and update menus, planning dishes according to customer preferences
· Manage food costs through careful portioning, waste control and effective budgeting
· Review customer dietary notes and allergen requirements to ensure meals are prepared exactly as instructed
· Check ingredients, in-progress dishes and final plates to make sure quality, flavour and presentation meet the required standards
· Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, with solid knowledge of curries, tandoori items, spice blends and cooking techniques
· Gather feedback from customers and team members, using it to refine recipes and improve the overall dining experience
· Plate dishes attractively and consistently before they leave the kitchen
· Maintain a clean, well-organised and sanitised kitchen throughout service
· Regularly check that ovens, grills, fridges, freezers and other equipment are functioning at the correct temperatures
· Manage stock level by monitoring inventory, rotating supplies and ordering ingredients when needed
· Store food safely in appropriate temperature-controlled areas to maintain freshness and meet food safety standards
· Train and guide kitchen staff and waiters on hygiene practices and service needs
· Follow all health, safety and food-handling rules
· Ensuring the kitchen operates in a safe and compliant manner
· Coordinate the workflow during busy service periods to ensure dishes are prepared efficiently and delivered on time
A successful candidate must have:
· At least 3 years of experience in similar role, preferably in an Indian cuisine
· Level 4 or higher in the relevant field can substitute the work experience
· Able to work rostered shifts and available during weekends
· Good people and communications skills
· Excellent knowledge of Indian food and spices
