Job- Cook

Full time - 30 to 40 hours per week and pay starts from $25 per hour.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes as per the menu and food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control.
• Ensure quality control, proper food storage, labelling, and rotation.
• Support menu planning and contribute to new dish ideas.
• Follow health and safety regulations, including allergen controls.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely service.
• Train and assist junior kitchen staff when required.

Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:

• A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification (e.g., Certificate in Cookery) or overseas equivalent.
• Alternatively, at least two years of relevant work experience, which may include prior experience working in a cafe or any food outlet may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and
  procedures.
• Sound knowledge of food hygiene, preparation, and kitchen safety standards.
• A positive attitude and willingness to take direction from senior kitchen staff or management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle kitchen equipment and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
