Big Pot is a chinese cuisine restaurant and located in Albany, Auckland, Now is seeking one experienced full-time cook (30+hours per week) to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a positive and ambitious individual who can take on responsibilities with confidence and stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

As our restaurant operates six days a week except Tuesday and offers both lunch and dinner services, you may be required to work across these time periods, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.

You will be paid $26-$30 per hour

  • At least two years of proven experience in a commercial kitchen, specializing in the preparation of authentic Chinese cuisine. or NZ Certificate in Cookery L4 qualification or higher level qualifications.
  • Available to work nights, weekends and split shifts throughout week
  • An innovative and forward thinker who commands respect
  • Capable to prepare high-quality dishes in an effi cient manner
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulation

Main Duties:

  • Food preparation and seasoning, work at a fast pace
  • Cook food for customers with special dietary requirements
  • Check the stock and ensure quality
  • Preserve the food and freeze them as required
  • Enforce hygiene regulations and be responsible for health andsafety issues
  • Train staff to use new recipes, cooking techniques and equipment,and oversee cooks performing food preparation
