We are a well-known Chinese restaurant based in Auckland. To enhance our team, we are now looking for Cooks to join our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for food, attention to details, ability to multi tasks and be a proactive member of the team.

  • Ideal candidate should have at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in the same field or industry, or 
  • Have a relevant level 4 qualification(equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted 

 

The hourly pay rate is between $25.00-$28.00 depending on your personal experience and skills. The position is permanent and full-time (guaranteed minimum 30 hours/per week, roster from Monday to Sunday). The location of work will be in Auckland.

Key tasks:

  • Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Checking ingredients to make sure the quality and freshness
  • Preparing and Cooking Chinese food in various utensils and grillers
  • Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the food during/after cooking
  • Preparing food to meet client’s taste and dietary needs
  • Arrange food on plates or wrap it to be taken away
  • Storing and reserving food
  • Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs
  • Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
  • Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assisting with training and coordinating with junior cooks or kitchen hands, as requested by head chef or director
