About the Company:

Plenty Fast Food Limited is a fast-food business located at 272 Oxford Street, Levin. We operate from 11:00am to 9:00pm Tuesday to Sunday and 4:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday.  Due to the long operation hours and business growing, we are looking for 2 full time permanent cooks to join our busy team and share our workloads/shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a wide range of Vietnamese and Asian dishes from our menu
• Set up and stock kitchen stations with required supplies and ingredients
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard, with correct portion sizes
• Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating during service
• Work closely with other kitchen staff and the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
• May assist in planning menus and estimating food and ingredient needs
• May train, supervise, and support junior kitchen staff and apprentices
• Follow all health and safety regulations
• Report maintenance or equipment issues as needed
• Perform other kitchen-related duties as required

Skills and Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ kitchen working experience in an Asian restaurant or similar environment, or
• New Zealand level 2 or higher qualification in cookery or culinary arts,
• Solid understanding of traditional Asian ingredients and cooking techniques
• Skilled in operating standard kitchen equipment (e.g., wok, steamer, rice cooker)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen and manage multiple tasks during peak hours
• Strong attention to detail and passion for delivering quality food
• Good communication and time management skills
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
