We are seeking a reliable and experienced ChefsĀ to join our busy food operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring consistency and excellence in food presentation. This role requires strong culinary skills, organisation, and professionalism in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and designing menus in line with business objectives, customer preferences, and seasonal availability.
  • Estimating food and labour costs, managing kitchen budgets, and ordering food supplies to minimise waste and maximise efficiency.
  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting food to a high standard while ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet established standards.
  • Discussing food preparation requirements and operational issues with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff.
  • Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance on preparation and cooking procedures to kitchen staff.
  • Explaining, implementing, and enforcing food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff as required to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
  • Managing food storage, including freezing and preserving food, while ensuring proper stock rotation and freshness.

Skills and Attributes

  • Candidate must have either a relevant Level 4 qualification or 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions and workplace procedures.
