Muffin Break Meridian Mall, is seeking a skilled Baker to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves preparing and baking a range of breads, muffins, pastries, and baked products while ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace health & safety standards.
This is a full-time position offering a minimum of 32.5 hours per week, with an hourly pay rate between NZD $30.00 and $35.00, depending on skills and experience. The successful candidate must have at least 2 years of relevant baking experience or a relevant qualification in baking, hospitality, or hotel management.
The Baker will be responsible for the following core tasks,
Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety and food safety regulations

Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients according to established recipes and production requirements

Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing, and shaping dough and pastry goods using manual techniques and commercial bakery equipment

Preparing pastry fillings and other bakery components in accordance with product specifications

Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine correct baking times and ensure consistent quality

Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of batches of bread, rolls, muffins, and pastry products

Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes using cream, icing, and other finishing materials

Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits and other bakery products

Emptying, cleaning, greasing, and maintaining baking trays, tins, ovens, and other cooking equipment in line with hygiene and workplace standards
