Korean Bob Ltd (Korean Bob Restaurant)- Located in the heart of Invercargill, Korean Bob Ltd is a well-established Korean restaurant known for delivering authentic flavours, consistent quality, and a welcoming dining experience. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join and lead our kitchen team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week (up to 45 hours)
  • Hourly rate: 30 - 35 dolalrs depending on your experience and skills

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Ordering food supplies and managing stock control
  • Planning menus and developing new and seasonal menu items
  • Preparing ingredients and cooking food to a high standard
  • Ensuring food is prepared in accordance with recipes and established kitchen standards
  • Managing portions and maintaining consistent food quality
  • Estimating food costs and advising on menu pricing
  • Training, supervising, and supporting kitchen staff
  • Monitoring food quality from preparation through to final presentation
  • Ensuring compliance with all food safety, health, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least two years of relevant work experience as a Chef, or a relevant cookery qualification or bachelor degree in any field.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A professional, proactive, and can-do attitude
  • A sound understanding of food safety, health and safety, and kitchen hygiene standards
  • Experience in Korean cuisine is not essential, but will be considered an advantage
