We are currently seeking experienced Pastry Cooks to join
our growing team in Napier.

Wespecialise in pies, sandwiches, and morning bakery service, including serving coffee. This role suits someone who is comfortable working early mornings in a production-focused bakery and café environment

Position Details
• Hours: 30 hours per week
• Pay Rate: NZD $23.5 per hour
• Location: Napier
• Start Time: Early morning shifts starting from 4:00 am
• Roster: Weekend availability required; rostered days off / time off in lieu applies
Key Responsibilities
• Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises prior to
production to ensure compliance with food safety and workplace health and
safety regulations
• Checking the quality of raw materials and accurately weighing ingredients
• Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing, and shaping dough and pastry
products, particularly pies
• Preparing pastry fillings
• Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine correct
baking times
• Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling
of pastry batches
• Operating machines used for rolling and moulding dough
• Emptying, cleaning, and greasing baking trays, tins, and other baking
equipment
• Preparing sandwiches and other simple food items
• Assisting with morning service tasks, including basic café and coffee service as
required
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant kitchen, bakery, or café work experience
• Sound knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety standards
• Ability to start work from 4:00 am
• Availability to work weekends
• Willingness to work rostered shifts with time off in lieu
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment
• We are only looking for NZ residence or citizen.
