We’ve been part of the Remuera community for over 20 years — known and loved for our cozy vintage vibe, friendly faces, and classic Kiwi flavours . Because our pastry cook has resigned, we now need to hire two pastry cooks to meet our daily operations and catering service needs.
Work location: Auckland
Rate: $25-$30.00
Work hour: Minimum 30 hours/week guaranteed
Job descriptions:
- Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before
production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety
regulations. - Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.
Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry
goods. - Preparing pastry fillings.
- Monitoring oven and steamer temperatures and product appearance to determine
baking times. - Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, steaming, unloading, de-panning and
cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products. - Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing if required.
- Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut in noodles and dimpling
pastries. - Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment.

We operate from Monday to Sunday, we currently have a pastry cook waiting to pass on his knowledge on how to efficiently run the cafe for your first few weeks before they move on.

REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum 1 years of proven experience as a pastry cook
· Taking responsibility for the food production with a hands-on approach
· Building positive relationships with staff
· Adhering to all relevant health and safety & food safety standards
· Identify, develop and maintain establishment policies and procedures
