We are looking for two experienced Mithai Chef who specializes in preparing traditional Indian sweets. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of authentic recipes, ingredients, and sweet-making techniques while maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality.

Hourly Rate $25 – $32 per hour (depending on experience and skills)

Location: Wellington 

Full time position 30-35 hours/week

Two (2) positions available

working hours Lunch 11am - 2pm 5pm - 9pm Including weekend's availability flexibly required 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide variety of Indian mithai such as laddoos, barfi, peda, halwa, rasgulla, gulab jamun, and other traditional sweets

  • Follow standardized recipes while ensuring consistent taste, texture, and presentation

  • Manage preparation of sugar syrups, khoya, chashni, and other base ingredients

  • Ensure proper food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in the kitchen

  • Monitor ingredient quality and freshness

  • Control portion sizes and minimize wastage

  • Assist in creating new or seasonal sweet varieties when required

  • Maintain kitchen equipment and tools used for sweet preparation
