We are looking for Full-time Chinese Cook to join our dedicated and busy team. Start date immediately.

Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

Preparing, cooking, and assembling fish and chips, Chinese takeaway dishes, and related menu items in accordance with established recipes, portion standards, quality, flavour, and presentation requirements;

Working closely with manager and kitchen team to plan, review, and update menus, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and suitability for takeaway and dine-in service;

Assisting in the development of new Chinese takeaway dishes or combination meals, and improving presentation and packaging to enhance customer experience;

Coordinating food preparation activities with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during peak takeaway periods;

Ensuring customers are served fresh, high-quality meals in a timely manner, particularly during busy lunch and dinner service;

Monitoring portion control and consistency across fish and chips and Chinese takeaway items to maintain cost control and product standards;

Ensuring strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards, including proper handling of raw seafood, meats, and cooked foods in line with health regulations;

Assisting in monitoring the storage, rotation, and freshness of ingredients, including seafood, vegetables, sauces, and frozen products;

Conducting regular stocktakes, assisting with food cost control, and reporting shortages or discrepancies to management;

Checking, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen equipment such as fryers, woks, grills, and preparation benches to ensure safe and efficient operation;

Implementing routine cleaning schedules and waste management practices in all kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas;

Assisting with training and guiding junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, safe food handling, and takeaway service procedures when required;

Participating in staff meetings to understand customer preferences, takeaway demand trends, and to contribute ideas for improving food quality and service efficiency;

Performing any other kitchen or food preparation duties reasonably required to support daily operations of a fish and chips and Chinese takeaway business.
Requirements for the job:
- 2 year's Experience and Knowledge of cooking Chinese cuisine OR Chinese Cuisine Chef Level 3 occupational certificate if experience not met
- Full time availability Monday - Sunday
- Fit & No criminal record
