Pho N Co is a vibrant restaurant dedicated to delivering authentic Vietnamese flavours and exceptional dining experiences. We are currently seeking two (2) experienced and skilled Chefs to join our growing team.

1. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

·       Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies

·       Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

·       Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff

·       Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures

·       Preparing and cooking food

·       Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations

·       May select and train staff

·       May freeze and preserve foods

 2. Requirements for the job:

·       A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, or a diploma-level qualification or higher

·       Strong planning and organizational skills for managing food preparation and cooking processes

·       Knowledge and ability to plan and organize the preparation and cooking of food in a busy environment.

·       Plan and add new menu items based on seasonality, customers’ preferences and feedback

·       High standard of food safety and hygiene practices

·       Ability to manage kitchen operations and lead a team effectively

·       Be physically fit

·       Full time availability, always available on weekends and public holidays

·       Able to do both morning and evening shifts across a 7-day roster, and to follow flexible weekly timetable

·       Have good time management skills, be well organized and capable of multitasking

·       Reliable and have a positive attitude

·       No criminal record

·       Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or residents

3. Remuneration and Hours

·       Pay: Hourly $23.5 - $24

·       Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 35 hours, permanent full-time
