We are looking for a dedicated chef for CHRISTCHURCH HOSPITALITY LIMITED in Christchurch. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $28.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on your skills. You are required to work as per the roster, and need to be available on weekends, late evenings and Public Holidays hence flexibility is essential in this role.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food items according to approved specifications and recipes, ensuring food is prepared on time and within designated schedules.
- Planning menus, estimating food costs
- Check all materials and foodstuffs, ensuring they are used before spoilage.
- Supervise tasks performed by assistants and other workers in the designated section.
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Maintain efficient sanitation services, garbage disposal, and chilling systems in compliance with regulations and requirements.
- Ensure machinery is operated, cleaned, and stored correctly; kitchen drawers and shelves are kept clean and tidy, with regular inspections and timely corrections.

Essential skills and attributes required:
2 years’ experience in a fast-paced restaurant or a minimum of level4 relevant qualification in cookery or hospitality or relevant field
Personal pride in presentation and professionalism
Naturally enjoys being around people and contributing to a positive work environment
Efficient, accurate and a strong appreciation for following systems
Consistent performance no matter the pressure from guests, team and outside influences
