You are required to work at least 30 hours per week, and have minimum 2-year chef work experience, specialty in Chinese cuisine will be preferred, or hold relevant NZQF level 5 or above cookery qualification
We offer hourly wage rates ranging from Minimum $29.7 to maximum of $39.7 depending on your skill and/or relevant work experience
Your main tasks include:
o developing and planning menus for Chinese cuisine dishes, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
o producing dishes using traditional methods of cooking and ethic ingredients
o Selecting and sourcing ethic spices as well as customising recipes as per customers’ taste and specification
o monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
o discussing food preparation issues with restaurant manager and kitchen staff
o demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
o preparing and cooking dishes up to satisfactory standards and specifications including tastes, texture and presentation
o analysing and reviewing daily performance, and excising budgetary control of material costs
o explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
o undertaking budgetary control of food items, keeping account of daily tractions in the kitchen, and maximising both dish quality and operational performance
