Tobi Auckland Limited is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our vibrant team in the heart of Ponsonby. 

We are looking for a creative professional dedicated to maintaining high culinary standards and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

 

Role Overview

  •  

    Position: Full-time, Permanent

     

  •  

    Location: 110 Ponsonby Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland

     

  •  

    Compensation: Hourly $25 – $35 (Depending on experience)

     

  •  

    Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday on a rostered basis

     

  •  

    Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week (includes 30-minute paid meal break and 15-minute unpaid tea break)

     

Key Responsibilities

  •  

    Menu & Management: Plan innovative menus, estimate food/labor costs, and manage ingredient ordering.

     

  •  

    Quality Control: Monitor all stages of food preparation and presentation to ensure top-tier quality.

     

  •  

    Collaboration: Coordinate with management, kitchen staff, and waiting staff to ensure seamless service.

     

  •  

    Leadership: Demonstrate cooking techniques, assist on procedures, and assist in staff training.

     

  •  

    Compliance: Strictly enforce and maintain food hygiene and safety (HACCP) regulations.

     

Candidate Requirements 

Qualification: An NZQF Diploma (Level 5) or higher in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management; OR 

  • Experience: In lieu of a formal qualification, at least two to three years of relevant professional culinary experience may be substituted.
