We are currently looking for a head chef for our authentic Turkish Bakehouse and Café in Henderson. This is a permanent full-time role.


You will be expected to work a minimum of 35 hours per week.


Job responsibilities:

• Be in charge of the daily operations of our kitchen
• Managing, supervising and training our kitchen staff
• Designing a menu and making menu recommendations
• Understanding how to cost food, order food and general supplies, and comprehending the cost to produce plates including costs of staffing
• Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation and delivery to the customer
• Discussing food preparation issues with our sous chef, cooks, manager, and kitchen staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Understanding how to prepare, and cook a varied range of authentic Turkish food
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• Ability to multitask

Work experience:
We require the ideal candidate to have at least 3 years of work experience as a Chef, ideally in a busy restaurant setting.
It is advantageous if the candidate has knowledge of Turkish cuisine.
What the job involves:
You will be organised into a rotating roster and you will be required to work all days of the week including the weekend with 2 days off.
We are prepared to offer you a competitive hourly wage which ranges from NZ$32 to NZ$37 per hour.
