We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic Full-time Chef to join our team. This role will suit a chef who is passionate about food and the hospitality industry, and who wants to work in a dynamic kitchen while contributing to the continued success and direction of a well-established restaurant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation of a designated section of the kitchen and ensuring that high-quality dishes are prepared and presented to meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operation of a specific section of the kitchen.
- Perform food preparation duties in the kitchen.
- Ensure that recipes and proportions are followed precisely in order to maintain consistency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all equipment and work environments are operational.
- Provide knowledge and training to junior kitchen team members.
- Follow protocols to maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
- Report to the assigned management team in the event that hazards are found that might affect work conditions.
- Order and keep inventory upon request to ensure seamless operation.
- Ensure that all workspaces and equipment are in good condition.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills and problem-solving.
- Maintain a harmonious relationship between front of house and kitchen staff
- Participate in kitchen meetings.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities that the head chef may reasonably require.
Our Requirements:
· A Level 4 qualification or higher in a relevant field (a qualification in cookery is preferred), OR at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
· Proven experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
· Strong culinary skills with attention to quality and presentation.
· High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
· Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high standards.
· Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
· Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a can-do approach to work.
