EMPIRE HOTEL 2017 LIMITED, known for providing quality hospitality services, is seeking multiple skilled Chefs to join our team in Stratford, Taranaki. The ideal candidate must be skilled, creative, and passionate about preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Key Duties
- Plan and develop menu items, ensuring variety, quality, and alignment with customer preferences.
- Prepare ingredients and carry out food preparation while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, stock rotation dates, and food temperature logs in accordance with food safety requirements.
- Store ingredients and prepared food correctly to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Present dishes attractively, ensuring consistency in portion size and plating standards.
- Innovate and refine recipes, introducing new ingredients and menu ideas where appropriate.
- Ensure full compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations.
- Set up and organise kitchen workstations with appropriate utensils and equipment prior to service.
- Review recipes and assemble required ingredients before commencing preparation.
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes as required, ensuring all items are properly sanitised.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and place orders to maintain adequate supplies.
- Inspect food quality regularly and discard expired or substandard items promptly.
Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $25 to $32 per hour.
Other requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or at least a relevant Level 4 qualification.
- Flexible availability for weekend and evening shifts.
