You'll be responsible for:
l Prepare dishes with precision, adhering to recipes and culinary techniques, ensuring consistency and attention to detail in each meal.
l Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and may lead the kitchen in Head Chef absence, upholding high standards for Japanese-style hot food preparation and presentation.
l Lead and motivate the kitchen team, promoting a positive and efficient working environment.
l Manage inventory by ordering supplies, controlling stock levels, and minimizing waste.
l Oversee the quality of food from preparation to final plating, ensuring consistency in flavor, presentation, and compliance with established recipes.
l Collaborate on the development of new menu items, accurately estimating food and labor costs, and contributing innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
l Maintain strict health and safety standards, ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organized, and fully compliant with regulations.
l Coordinate with the restaurant manager and front-of-house staff to deliver a seamless and enjoyable experience for customers.
About You
l Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in Japanese restaurant.
l Strong knowledge of Japanese ingredients and fish fabrication techniques
l Ensure quality food preparation and presentation.
l Ability to work both fast and accurately
l Availability to work during business hours, including weekends and evenings
l Flexibility to take on various shifts
