CHEF DE PARTIE wanted
Work Location: Auckland
Employment type: Full time (guaranteed 30hours / per week, roster from Monday to Sunday), Permanent
Our pay: $25.00 -$26.00 per hour depending on skills
We are a well-established popular restaurant based in Auckland.
To enhance our team, we are now looking for CHEF DE PARTIE to join our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for food, attention to details, ability to multi task and be a proactive member of the team.
- Ideal candidates should have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the same field or industry, OR
- Have a relevant level 4 qualification or above (equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted) (Occupational certificate can be accepted
You are required to:
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes within the specialty section, such as Chinese barbecue, hot line and cold larder.
- Setting up the kitchen prior to a restaurant’s opening and sorting out the orders accordingly
- Take orders from the sous chef or head chef on what specialty is being worked on for dinner/lunch service
- Plan and develop dishes for their specialty section as required (such as seasonal change) to help Head Chef and Sous Chef to final the menu
- Cleaning and sanitising their area and follow the rules of health and safety
- Monitoring supplies, wastage, portion and waste control, and inventory control in their sections in charge, coordinate and participate with other sections when required
- Operate and maintain all department equipment and report any problems
- Monitoring Directs, supervises, assists and coaches commis chefs or kitchen hands assigned to the station when necessary
